And I've just bought the 5000. Which is a bit carp, BTW...

They look nice, but would I ever buy one after owning a wireless explorer ? No way in hell; after about a year it started to fall to bits and was downhill from there. Where quality is concerned MS mice get zero from me. In contrast, I've had my logitech MX1000 for 3 or it could be 4 years now and other than missing feet and a worn battery it is still going strong.
indeed wasn't impressed with an MS mouse i had for a bit. Had the original optical explorer for about 6 years...
don't know if the quality on these will be better thou, why you hate the wireless one hex?
throw new ArgumentException (String, String, Exception)
the only MS mouse i actually liked. heavyweight solidness

Can vouch for that, had the MS Natural 4000 keyboards for years and not one problem with it, use one at work to as they are indestructible and mine get hammered for hours on end daily.
Although as for the MS mice they always seem to break on me, use the logitech mx518 at home which must be pushing 3 years old now.
I think MS hardware is actually very good - intellimouse explorers have been great to me and i love their keyboards (natural) too. I haven't taken quite so well to the habu i picked up ages back but then i'm hard to shift off the explorer.
Yeah their hardware is pretty much rock solid. Shame they never did a backlit Natural 4000 as I sit in the dark most the time at night when on the machine and in real low light the natural becomes a nightmare. Especially my last one, lasted that long I rubbed all the letters off so just blank faded black keys.
Why do they keep on producing devices that left handed people can't use?
I know we only represent 10% of the population but I can't understand why they deliberately restrict their potential market by even that much.
It's really not that difficult to produce a good mouse that is useable by everyone. My Razer Diamondback is superb.
I've had one of the original wireless laser 6000 mice for around a year now, and its the best computer mouse I have ever owned. Very comfortable, great, responsive buttons and the wheel works well enough too. My only complaint with it is that the wheel doesnt click, which is a feature I miss from the older mice. Its not a big issue though and you get used to it
I don't likethe look of the new versions though, just looks...fugly imo. Bit silly to call the first one a 6000 again too, since they already have a WM6000..surely it should be a 6000A or something.
