"What we really need now is for Sky to drop the additional £10 per month subscription charge for HD customers."
Which they will do (as they did for Sky+) after they've milked it for a couple of years.
early adaptors get screwed, fact of life.
what really grinds my gears is how bad the integration of the HD service is.
When watching 106, thats sky one.... i don't want to have to think, hurm its 165 in the living room. There should be at worst a button that toggles between SD and HD mode. The channel numbers completely hidden.
But noooo.
throw new ArgumentException (String, String, Exception)
THe problem is that its 2 separate feeds for HD and SD so at the moment its going to be a bit annoying for ppl.
As more ppl come in though hopefully sky on hd will have all programs in hd so you wont have to worry about swapping channesl
More people won't come in whilst the box costs 300-odd and an additional tenner a month on your monthly sub, eeek.
As dangel says though, the monthly extra is bound to be dropped somewhere down the line. Similar to Sky+. Once they drop the monthly, I might even consider it myself.
And when they do they'll probably be a lot more on it to justify getting it!
Sky cost me a fortune over many years, i've gorn freeview now and tbh i'm happy enough until something else is both content-ter-ly and financial-ly more attractive.
