    BD+ copy misprotection broken by Slysoft

    Consumer freedom received a boost this week following the release of AnyDVD HD version 6.4.0.0 from Slysoft, which takes Blu-Ray's BD+ copy protection and gives it a swift kick in the groin.

    It's almost worth considering buying a Blu-Ray drive now!
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Re: BD+ copy misprotection broken by Slysoft

    Have to say that I'm VERY impressed with SlySoft.

    I researched for a friend (who's close to computer illiterate) ways in which he could get his DVDs onto his Archos 504 media player and I kept on stumbling on the name SlySoft.

    To see what was suitable for him, I downloaded and tried two SlySoft products myself - AnyDVD (non-HD version) and CloneDVD Mobile cos SlySoft lets you run full trial versions for 30 days - before passing on the recommendation.

    Of course, I ended up buying them myself because they are so very convenient to use - and another mate who wanted an easier and better way of backing up his precious DVDs ended up buying AnyDVD and CloneDVD (non-mobile version) and is no less impressed than me.

    What's very nice is that you can install any SlySoft program you buy on any number of PCs or partitions.

    So here, I have the two programs installed under XP and Vista on one machine and on the same two OSs on another.

    The slight catch is that you can only run the specific program on one PC at a time but I reckon that's a reasonable limitation.

    I have Any DVD HD running on both my main PC and my HTPC (and soon my NAS HTPC) all at the same time with no probs.

    But yeah, I've verified that the BD+ protection is indeed broken. There are a few reports on their forum that the process introduces some glitches to the disks in question though, so best keep any eye on that.

    Exclamation Re: BD+ copy misprotection broken by Slysoft

    For those of you enjoying AnyDVD, CloneDVD and CloneDVD mobile and multiple PCs with one license per product, let me give you a tip from "inside".

    I work in SlySoft support and I'm using an external e-mail address.

    If you remember the line from a Dirty Harry movie "Do you feel lucky?" then think about registering any SlySoft product on more than one PC. The EULA uses the word "one" to describe the envelope for "personal use" for a SlySoft license. Take a tip - buy extra keys if you really need to run products on more than one PC. Fair-use is fun but there are limits.

    Blacklistings do occur under the above-named circumstances and we do give discounts for adding sets of keys. Promise.

    Its quite ironic that a company that produces software to break copy protection is on here talking about EULAs etc.

    Ps I have used the trail when i had Bluray problems (i found it was HDCP messing up) and it was very good.
