Excuse my skepticism, but has Intel ever been successful in it's many attempts at diversification?

Amen to that. Fun though isn't it? I mean, not so long ago Intel themselves were sitting back on processors and integrated video in chipsets. AMD kicked them into to touch on one and MS on the other (Vista).Quote:

Yeah - if new integrated graphics cards were generally good enough for newer games (say decent enough to give a choice between low resolution / high detail and vice versa) I could imagine the PC gaming market taking off pretty quickly.
Really pleased that AMD have had a half decent crack at the whip with 780G. Intel have needed a good kicking in the integrated department for years. Good platforms should beat fast CPUs for the OEM market.

Btw, I agree with the poster about the quality of Intel's integrated graphics. You'd think they'd get that right before attempting a discrete card.
