Where the heck do these guys get figures like this from? I mean with the US Dolllar at it's weak point now are they artifically inflating the prices across europe to increase their revenue?

Or are they selling to Europe at a price that actually makes them some money, then subsidising or taking a lower profit in the US so they are actually affordable to their US customers?

Saying that, now I've thought about it no matter what they charge, theres still people like myself that are going to purchase this straight away.

in the US you can pick the whole Rock Band bundle up for the equivalent of £84.97.

I won't be buying it myself, not at that price. I don't have a Wii and if I were to spend £180, it would go on a combo of Wii and Mario Kart as opposed to Rock Band.

I do already have Guitar Hero II and III, so I might just buy the Rock Band game and play just guitar for now. Then think about adding drums or a mic later in the year when prices come down.

Here's a thought... import the PS3 version from Canada, which is region free.

Then, when the PS3 version is launched in the UK, you can get the DLC stuff from PSN when the UK site updates and just buy another guitar, (if you want it), from a UK store here.

Of course, you can wait for the region locked Xbox 360 version to be released in the UK which does have the advantage of (reportedly) letting you use your Guitar Hero controllers, so you can just by the game and the drum kit.

By the way, it says in the manual that any USB mic will work with the game, so if you have one, you don't need to bother with that either. (The mic from the Wii version of Boogie works fine on the PS3.)

So by being crafty you can reduce the cost quite a bit.

£69.99 for the drum kit and £49.99 for the game is all you'll need to pay if you already have two guitars from Guitar Hero.

Still, that does work out about the same as importing it from Canada...

I was going to pick it up, but I'm not spending that much. I'm going to hang on and wait till the price comes down.

im pretty sure i could get the money for this, but im not going to. I feel like if i support pricing like this it gives them a right to charge whatever they want for games and peripherals. Ok maybe £130 is a decent price but an extra 50 notes on top of that they can jump. I would just get the rock band game had my gh2 controller worked properly. Bah oh well have to hope gta4 multiplayer is decent
