What are you basing this on? Pretty sure they're all the same as the console versions, but with the added ability to mod them that comes with PC games. They just come out later since they can make more money out of the console versions

No. The game is originally developed on and for the consoles, and then ported to the PC. To make use of the PCs technically differences would need more time and money to re-develop the game for a different format.

Re: Reviews - Grand Theft Auto IV - Xbox 360

I've heard a lot of people complaining about the control systems of the cars, the brakes, the control and the body roll... but in my opinion it gives the whole game a more realistic feel... the cars are not reacting as grand theft auto cars of the past, but more like cars in REAL LIFE... where you couldnt stop on a 2 pence piece in a car you just stole off the street!

some of the higher end cars int he game (inferno) control alot better, as you would imagine if you stole a lambourghini countach in real life...

I have to agree with the hand to hand combat though, it leaves a lot to be desired.

I picked this game up yesturday and have already put 24 hours into it...

Its time to put it down for a while as its more addictive than crack!

at present im 40.89% through the game progress...

Might be an idea to check this out PS3 Grand Theft Auto IV is 640p, nobody cares - Joystiq

Seems the PS3 is running at a lower resolution than the 360 version and also doesnt have any anti aliasing....

actually, from what i heard PS3 is running at 640 with 2X Anti Aliasing, as opposed to 720 with 1xAA..

Either way, i will be able to compare when my xbox 360 arrives!

Re: Reviews - Grand Theft Auto IV - Xbox 360

Well at least you didn't give it a 10\10, which is a silly score anyway, and after playing the game, its clearly not a 10 game.

    Is it brilliant - yes.

Does it make me want to play it to the end - yes.

Could I easily make a list of 50 things that I don't like, or could have been done better - yes.

I think the IGN and GameSpot reviewers got slightly carried away. Perfect this aint.

On the driving, the brakes being crap I can handle, but the steering wheel actually doing something would be nice. Also Niko is a bit slow when I want him to be snappy, You start doing something, the situation changes and you want to do something else, and there is a lag between pressing the button and doing what you want. I want him to jump out of a car, and hit the ground running so to speak, not get out, stand up straight, stand there for half a second while he gets shot, then start running.

Just little things, but there are so many of them...

The cars bounce around too much as well. I agree Niko is clumsy to control sometimes. Loads of little things wrong with it, but still amazing. Certainly not 10/10.

Re: Reviews - Grand Theft Auto IV - Xbox 360

And as I said somewhere else, the cars sometimes weigh 100 tons, and sometimes 100 grams. Miss a corner and try to stop, and you slide for a quarter of a mile... clip a 1/2 inch curb in a big heavy van, and it flips over 5 times like a stunt car.

You can't fully get used to the cars, because you are never quite sure how they will react.

Will you smash straight through the fence, or will it throw you 30 feet through the air?
