Dammit, Rock have always seemed steady as; it'll be sad if they DO go completely.
Didn't see that one coming, even with the loss of the forum.
Damn shame they build to spec, there might have been some cheapies!!
I am shocked. Four top of the range machines I have had from Rock over 5 years.
Should of known after the forum, or even ROK's share purchase of Rock.
Sad times for British IT companies - there all going one by one.

Very sad news, especially as my Pegasus 670 needs to go in for repair.
ouch.
must be bad, voodooflux returned to post for the first time since 2004.
Wow.
So seriously, who has much faith left in buying a PC from an independent British builder, and having a warranty that'll mean something?
- Another poster, from another forum.I'm commenting on an internet forum. Your facts hold no sway over me.

Well this is the cause, that Rock have placed the administrators action on.

I have to admit, I'm not sure that I can believe that the reason that Rock are going under is entirely to blame for their fall into administration. Surely they would have had property insurance that would have covered them for the losses that they sustained? It would be crazy to think that they didn't. Most commercial property policies contain a clause relating to 'staff fidelity' which surely they must have had given the high-value nature of their stock.
I read the report on the Kenilworth News website that someone posted earlier and it seems that these thefts took place over a course of years - why did Rock not have stock monitoring systems in place that would have picked up on these variances earlier?
I feel bad for them, moreso for the rest of their staff and for those customers with remaining warranty or unfulfilled orders (that weren't made on a credit card), but surely it could be argued that Rock have been fairly negligent in allowing this to happen?
Am I wrong?
Rock have had my laptop for 6 weeks now, "waiting on parts"
Not a happy bunny, but what can you do, the warrenty is insurance backed in years 2 and 3 so it should be fixed by a contractor, when is another matter.
My main problem is they fixed laptops with the same problem they had only had for days and left mine waiting. PLus it is a buisness laptop so im losing money every day its not here.
Just had a look on the Rock site, shows the same info here, but if refresh the page the news article of adminstration disappers and still allowing people to place orders. You think this should be turned off rather than still leaving it open.
sad day indeed - what's worrying is how many of these companies have gone under in the last few years. doesn't give you much faith to buy from anyone but the international players or else just build your own....
Building your own is fine for desktops, Ive done it for years, but for Laptops its just not practicle.
I looked into it before getting the ROCK and there just isnt the facilities for it to be viable, I also found it to be more expensive than buying complete. However if you know better Im always willing to be proven wrong.
