    I still reckon this is merely testing the water until they can get preferential pricing on embedding Windows 7 instead

    just look at the "linux laptop" poster child, the eee - these days, it's *cheaper* with windows

    because in no small part to the abstraction and cancer curing abilities of the kernel in embedded windows, it still takes an age to boot.

    i think it's a great idea - gets you out of a hole when you need to dl a driver etc. and you haven't got another pc handy.

    orthos, cpu-z etc are windows apps.

    as for whether you'll be able to run arbitrary linux apps on this thing, i don't think that's been made clear
