Re: Headlines - Nintendo crackdown on Wii imports. Goodbye Freeloader!

great i just spent a fortune on a freeloader and a playasia import of smash bros for my sons 8th birthday. He wanted it for christmas and didnt get it and i couldnt let him down again on his birthday. Now if my wii gets updated he cant play his favourite game.

Keep acting like this and ninty wont get a penny more of my money.

can they force us to take an update or make it so we cant play new games without it, im pretty sure mario galaxy had a manditory one?

Another reason to get Wii chipped... Apparently its easy to do now, there are solderless chips... Why does nintendo do this?

Careful people... talk of cracking/chipping Wiis won't be tolerated.

Feel free to vent over this lockdown but keep it legal.

I don't know much about Freeloader. Was Wii Freeloader legal?

it also threatened their, lets give the european market the game 6 months later policy.

if we hadnt been shafted by nintendo europe for the last 15 years there wouldnt be any need for freeloaders to play imports

I know dude, I wrote it!

It's my fault, I didn't make it clear so apologies to all for that.

What I meant was, talk of modding/cracking/chipping for pirating purposes is what we won't allow.

    Sorry bud.

Presumably importing authentic games is 100% legal, or the WTO would have a benny?

at this point i feel it neccessary to praise sony, for not including region-protection in games on the ps3

and smaller props to he 360, where it's optional

And Nintendo had the sense to make the DS region-free, so why the Wii?
