    a 27" full HD....my 24" is full hd

Don't forget you dont just get the extra 3" but HDMI connectivity too, so PS3/360 etc can run through it

Re: Headlines - Dell launches 27in UltraSharp 2709W monitor

    Hi Guys,
I have been considering to take a dip for Dell 2408WFP and since seen the price of 2709W, I am wondering if it would work just as well for vector graphics, maps and photos. I may use it for videos once in while but my main use is office type work & web surfing.

Has anyone got Dell 2709w yet and how do you feel about it. I heard that input delay is a big issue.

    Zak

Re: Headlines - Dell launches 27in UltraSharp 2709W monitor

    Hi Guys,
I Ordered this from Dell a weekago. Guess what my order is in Pre-Production stage.
Even Dell guys can not explain what that is but it could take 14 days. DO you think they are out there buying raw materials for my monitor.

It is a shame they dont make it clear at the time of ordering.

I could have had this monitor the following day for the same price. Now that the payment has been made it could take them for ever to refund should I cancel the order. So if any one of you guys are thinking of getting a Dell 2709W, look elsewhere. You can get is for £440 inc delivery & Vat delivered next day I believe. Saw this on PC Byit advert.

I was set on buying a BenQ FP241w (once I save up some money!), but I'm tempted at this price, especially the extra 3 inches and connectivity.

Anyone know of any professional reviews of the Dell, or comparisons to the BenQ?

Re: Headlines - Dell launches 27in UltraSharp 2709W monitor

    Hi Guys,
Be warned if you are ordering any goods from Dell. The EDD (estimated delivery date does not mean any thing. For a guide 30 days is the standard. Here is a copy of the small print.

    Consumers:
5.4 Delivery will take place less than 30 days after the date of Order unless specifically otherwise agreed at the time of making the Order.
5.5 If the estimated delivery date cannot be met and the revised delivery date will exceed 30 days from the original date of order then Consumer will be contacted & advised of a proposed new date for delivery. If Consumer refuses the revised delivery date and delivery is not made within 30 days from the original date of order or prior to the specifically agreed delivery date if applicable, then Consumer may cancel the order without charge & obtain a full refund.
5.6 Where Product is delivered in instalments, then, unless expressly otherwise agreed at the time of placing the Order, these instalments will be delivered within 30 days of placing the Order.

Re: Headlines - Dell launches 27in UltraSharp 2709W monitor

Have you got yours yet? I've been waiting about a month now, and it's an order for a customer. If the customer cancels I'll be £1,000 out

Dell usually state 7 - 10 working days, and more often than not (I order a lot), the stuff comes in about 4 days. This time no such luck

Ordered one for myself as well anyway, but I ordered it with a workstation for a customer, so that customer might not be getting their machine for god knows how long as well. They should ship the computer separately, they've done that before for me.

Re: Headlines - Dell launches 27in UltraSharp 2709W monitor

Ive had mine for a week now.

Nice monitor, bright, nice stand, some imput lag, but i wouldnt have noticed unless someone had mentioned it in a review.

Play wow at 1920x1200 using my 8800gts 320mb getting 150+ fps am pleased but there is a good buy on a 28" hansg at the moment for about £240, I might have gone for that if I had seen it first, but have always had dell tfts and never had a dead pixel.
