It's been raining Eee PCs for the last few months, but this is one worth taking a look at. It's literally the iMac of the Eee world.

They need to hire new designers... who would want that ugly thing on their desktop.

Uh oh, not looking so good, the success of the ee pc is the fact that it actually looks nice and is tiny!

They could really do with a Touch Screen edition as well. I would use one in my Kitchen then and design my own Flash/web interface.

I think that'd work well in place of a conventional bedroom TV....

I think it looks OK too. If that price is reflected at retail, then I think there'll be a market for it, but yes, a touchscreen mod'd be nice. There are markets for all in one PCs; we have a couple that I built around the MSI Crystal 945 chassis, which are going strong, and the current Quartz G31 looks useful too, but those you have to integrate yourself, and they're nowhere near the Eee's price point.

    chipset?

    945GC - crapola
    945GSE - better
Poulsbo - happy - HDTV acceleration built in!

Is that a clear plastic section at the bottom or a editted photo or what? Not sure I like it....

Yeah, C2D model would be cool but unlikely... Atom would be fine for HD if the chipset is there!

Prices - well lets wait and see if it hits $500 (£275) or not

One other thing I'd love to know.. can the PC part be left to run with the screen on standby? That might be handy!!

Re: Headlines - Another day, another Eee: all-in-one Eee Monitor pictured

I like this idea a lot - much closer to the orginal Eee principle than some of the recent additions to the range, and if they get the pricing as competitive as that estimate suggests I think it will do well (and deservedly so). Good to see Asus are still trying to do genuinely interesting things with the brand.

As regards the choice of processor, I'm going to reserve judgement until the OS options are confirmed I think...

Looks a lot like the Gateway One - any idea if this also uses NXT speakers?
