"Ah, the 904, the source of much rumour but little confirmation."
Hmm. That's strange.
Your old site, PC Retail confirmed it big last week.
I'd post the link but I'm apparently not allow to.
Yes, PCR did well there. They're obviously well trained.
Barring that piece, which still didn't absolutely confirm price and availability, there had been little hard information from Asus itself, unless you know something we don't.
I'm currently trying to get a 901 via work, my contact at Misco (who are our main supplier) said the 901 will not be going on sale untill the 21st with them.
I'm currently looking for other sources.
I should have an EEE 901 waiting for me when I get home, ordered one from Ebuyer last night on next day delivery
Went for the XP one with 12Gb SSD, which I'll expand with a nice SDHC card. I'll post my first impressions once I've had a chance to get to grips with it.
I saw those: Netbook watch: where are they?. Let us know when you recieve it and what you think.
As I've been looking there seem to be quite a few about with XP preloaded but none of the linux versions if it wasn't for the fact that I need the linux version for work I'd order one now.
I went for the XP one because I am more famailiar with XP than any linux distro, if I had bought the linux one I would have probably put XP on. Buying the XP one gets me a license for XP which saves some messing around, and if I want linux I can put it on an SDHC card and I will most likely do that and try out some of the new distros coming out with UMPCs in mind.
I also like the idea of Dolby Sound Room for music etc, which only works with windows apparently... my EEE will be a field work data cruncher and for email I expect.
Really looking forward to trying it out when I get home from work this evening
Got it!
Its brilliant, it boots up fast and connects to my wifi quickly to. on a full charge with wifi and bluetooth turned off I've had a battery life indicator of 6hours 30min ish. May get more than its had a few discharge/recharge cycles.
The build quality is much more solid than the previous models, its a robust little thing. Screen quality is good and I've tried a couple of 3d games (freelancer and system shock 2). Plays them nicely and I was still getting around 3 hours battery with that kind of intensive cpu use.
I shall be buying one for my work as i travel on the bus to college day and night and that takes 3hours xD
How's the webcam Zadock?
having spent 8 hours on the train on friday and another 8 hours coming back from london yesterday, I've decided that I really need a mini laptop.
901 is sounding pretty good
