I disagree about the agar-agar powder though..
You can get those from asian grocery shops everywhere.. even in central Sheffield, which technically only have 2 chinese grocery shops stock them loads..

Mind you, having something like the DS in a kitchen with condensation is not a good idea. Wonder how many will actually break down due to damp and condensation, happens with mobile phones in bathrooms etc.

I choose that example as I'd never heard of it. It gave gelatin as an alternative to use.

Not really, i've played about with it at work and it's split into more or less equal amounts for each of the three major regions of the world, so the Americas, Europe/Africa and Asia/Japan. I mean yes, there is a lot of Asian food, but maybe that's because Asia is damned big! Europe is piddly by comparison, it's almost laughable that all most people eat is derived from the EU when there's the rest of the world to choose from.
It's interesting, we got an international version, but other countries got pretty limited ones from what i hear - the Japanese one for instance was pretty heavily Japanese food based. There were a few recipes that i thought should have been put in simply because they're common and reasonably easy to cook. I couldn't find chili con carne for a start!

Yeah, there's a few dishes that I couldn't find and was surprised they were missed out. This is the kind of "game" where downloadable content would be a good idea.
