Now the question is - Q6600 or E8500?
I'm glad I didnt order yet, when do these prices filter down to us in the UK?

Time to pick up a Q6600 I think, how long d'you reckon it'll take for the cuts to filter down to the likes of Scan?

Good thing I delayed my dual core am2 build. Think it might just be intel quad core now.

If it's for a server then go for the quad. Otherwise, for games and desktop applications the 8500 will blow the socks off the 6600 according to the charts on Tom's Hardware.Originally Posted by Crevan

8500 will be quicker but it wont 'blow the socks' off itTomsHardWare is not a great site for correct information. I remember once, that site equated the old FX5200 to a 9800Pro
Remember......the 8500, when all said and done, is just a dual core
