I caught some of this on Sky I think... not sure about the standard of DoA4 play, they didn't really do anything. I used to play on XBL with a Dutch kid who would have wiped the floor with them.
I lost the will to live when Counter Strike came on... the worlds most boring game.
"The less you eat, drink and buy books; the less you go to the theatre, the dance hall, the public house; the less you think, love, theorise, sing, paint, fence, etc., the more you save – the greater becomes your treasure which neither moths nor rust will devour – your capital. The less you are, the less you express your own life, the more you have, the greater is your alienated life, the greater is the store of your estranged being." Karl Marx
Bores me. Just an opinion.
i watched all of this and last years event too was very good
disagree with you stewart and that they were not very good at doa the san francisco girl vanessa is widely renowned as the world s best female player of doa 4. although messy is good but not one of the worlds best he did well to beat ninjacw who is a very good up and coming player
you find when good players go against each other matches can often be boring because its constant countering of each others moves
and its about time someone outside of america one the world championships
I didn't see any women, I saw one Asian kid playing, he had glasses and a white shirt on, it might not have even been this event, it was on Sky One last night. Was a Ryu vs Ryu match I think.
Was all a bit cheesy anyway, so I turned it off after half a round. Lots of kids screaming and some annoying Yank commentators.
Still - go Salvos!
I think that was Messy you were watching, he was in a mirror face-off match.
The whole point of CGS is that it's jazzed up for TV... I was at the UK final draft recording and there was something like 10 takes just for crowd reactions when Keeley Hazel walked into the arena... still reckon they'd have got a decent reaction in one take if she was in her Page 3 attire.
As to the commentators Redeye is British... so unless they chopped him from the commentary, he should've been in there. I know Wendel is on the team for punditry, I met him yet again out at Computex and he was telling me how it was an easy gig for him... nice money if you can get it!
Anyhoo, well done to Odee... can't think of a nicer bloke to have won it! Top sante!
