Since the drive is only Windows and Mac compatible it isn't that much good news for Linux netbook users then is it?

    So near yet so far!

This new mobile DVD recorder comes with both USB-2 and Firewire connections making it perfect for use with either Mac or PC notebooks
Doesn't say anything about being Windows only. It will function as a writer just fine with a multitude of Linux DVD-R apps although you will need to source them yourself as opposed to being included on the CD.
