Hell yes, more players = cheaper, faster, quicker progress.

Only drawback is that your purchase becomes obsolete and loses value quicker

With SSD value loss will be a lot less than a hard disk. As soon as you buy a current hard disk it loses 80/90% of its value, its not worth bothering to sell on.

So a second hand 1TB disk would be worth about a tenner? Tell you what, I'll be really generous and buy one for double that if anyone is offering.

Any guesses on how much these Intel SSDs will cost? I reckon £200 for the 80GB is just about realistic, if Intel are aggressive with the pricing.

I'm getting myself a 160Gb model when it comes out. These will be prerfect for Small form factor PC's. And no more noisey drives whinning as Vista gives it a spanking.

Roughly the same noise produced by a CompactFlash card, or a USB pen drive, or a SD card.

(i.e. absolutely none as there are no moving parts)
