They forgot "Best addon ever". Which would be Firebug.
I can't do without my eBay companion thing, IE Tab, Video Download Helper and All in one sidebar, personally.
adblock plus with this subscription is by far the best
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865
(install this first)
abp://subscribe/?location=http%3A%2F%2Feasylist.adblockplus.org%2Feasyelement%2Beasylist.txt&title=EasyElement%2BEas yList
(restart firefox and click on this link to add the 'blocklist')
stops annoying banners and crappy googleads, makes the internet clean!
I am sure web admins love you!
I prefer to take a more moderate approch, and use Flashblock. It does not block all adverts, just the annoying flickering and CPU eating flash ones. I think that is fairer on web masters, as that way they know that their adverts can be seen if they don't use annoying ones.
I think the situation is similar to pop up blockers that these days most people use. Only the most disreputable websites use popups theses days, and most people would agree that it is fair for users to block them. I think that it is reasonable to block animated flash adverts for similar reasons.
I don't mind seeing other adverts, and will click on them if they are for a product that I am interested it, but I object to them when they become overly distracting, or max out my CPU causing it to become hot and noisy.
Wot no PicLens :surprised:
Is there a plug in to undo close tab yet?
Yep. Strangely it's called Undo Closed Tabs. ;)
Cool they have updated that to work with FF3... It didn't work when I tried it when FF3 first came out
Edit: that still doesn't work for me. Is there a working plug in for this? In FF2 I used to middle click on the empty space in the tab bar to undo close tab... I think Tab Mix Plus did it, but that is not FF3 compatible
Edit2: w00t the dev build works http://tmp.garyr.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9178
It definitely works. I've got it sitting in my toolbar at the moment. Clicking it makes stuff happen. ;)
Tried the link from what appears to be the author's site? I've never visited that place. Mine is just from the Mozilla Addons pages, as linked previously, but give it a shot.
Vista x64. Can't see that that makes a difference saying as Firefox is 32-bit though. See my edit as you were replying.
Best one for me is Foxmarks. It's great to have the same set of bookmarks on my pc at work, my own pc and my wife's laptop.
I use google bookmarks on the google toolbar for that, and works on ie too..
Seems they missed some essentials:
Adblock Plus or Flashblock, as mentioned by other posters,
but also "Remove it Permanently" is great for removing parts of websites that you revisit..
Piclens is good, but only supports selected popular websites - it would be so much better if it worked on all websites
