Nope still think i would buy an Intel CPU no matter how much they cut the costs, looking forward to AMDs new chip though.

The vagaries of AMD's pricing are interesting.

Why should a Phenom X4 9750 presently cost more than a faster-clocked X4 9850? The logic escapes me.

Q6600 makes the decision easy when you've got £100 to spend. So even with the price cuts I'm afraid I'd still go Intel. But come into the £50 category and the new 5050e looks very appetising for a home PC. It's really the 780G chipset that makes the budget Phenoms attractive. They should market that more than the CPUs.

Spot on. Amd need to get peoples serious attention by having some intel cpu beaters. They need to really smash the Q6600 by price and performance.

Yep. And they can't even match it on performance yet.
AMD's fastest quad is slower than Intel's slowest.
    A sorry state of affairs
