Definitely, I wonder how much they'd cost?

a decent amount of built in memory would make it more tempting.

also come on sony, throw in the better battery as standard!!

Certainly a waste of time "upgrading" - but for new customers, sure, why not..

Re: Articles - The new PSP 3000 - Is it time to upgrade your hand-held?

I'll be keeping my 1st Gen PSP thank you, I don't see why I need to upgrade. If it had dual analogue sticks now that might be more tempting. Screen does look nicer though.

Re: Articles - The new PSP 3000 - Is it time to upgrade your hand-held?

Having both the first gen PSP and the newer PSP slim, I do believe upgrading the screen is necessary as I've found the screen on the slim to be way inferior to my original PSP which provides a cleaner, sharper and more contrasty picture. I was quite disappointed with the slim having bought it, so will wait and see if this new one is really worth it.

The anti glare looks good as well as the new screen. But as already pointed out this is not really an upgrade, more something to make the experience better for new buyers of the PSP.

Agreed, there is a huge difference in screen quality with original and slim. The difference between and original and the PSP 3000 will be massive.

Slight correction - but from working in GAME - we were only supposed to take in PSP Base packs - regardless of what the user had with them, as if you tried to scan in a Giga Pack it would come up as 0.01p trade in value. You can trade in the memory cards separately though, as far as i know - but why would you want to if you're replacing the PSP, you'll still need it in the new console.

    Very true.

Just heard that the PSP slim will be coming down in price for a limited time only. Not sure when though.

another point i'd like to add, i sold my psp a while ago not due to having any problems with it that these upgrades are fixing, the main problem was the lack of decent games on the thing!!!!! sony should be fixing that before adding an (admittedly nice) brighter screen

I'm still happy with my PSP-1000!

    Japanese model =D

I got it for the superior screen but with this 3000 business I'll only be second best =[
