Hmm so around tenner more for the privilege of downloading it.
What's with the new word highlighting? Really distracting and I'm failing to see the point of it considering the inconsistent usage - first two instances aren't highlighted.
Sorted now, it was an error, you won't see that again.
Much better, thanks Steven :)
£39.99 for a download version from EA or £29.99 for a retail version from the like of HMV and Play or £27.98 from Amazon. I'd expect to be able to pop into Asda and pick it up on release day for less than EA are charging - I've yet to see them charge the full RRP.
Same thing is happening with the release of Warhammer Online. EA charging the full RRP for download and yet D2D are charging £32.99 for exactly the same thing. Yet go into any store and its £30 or less. EA getting as much cash as they can, just hope people don't fall for this and buy else where. So what if you can download Spore early, you'll have to sit and wait 30 min for it to be decrypt, wtf is that all about?
I can't tell if aidanjt's post is intended in a sarcastic manner, but if it is, I agree EA has got things the wrong way round.
I might buy this but waiting for reviews on it xD, i hate the idea that buying online(ea link/steam/D2D) is much more expensive than stores and its annoying because if you complete it, you cant sell it and you goto remember your account information also its bad if your computer get hacked etc so you lose your steam account or what ever. I always prefer tangible items, if it was cheaper online then i would buy it because thats how it should be, they dont have to pay for storage+manuals and caes etc all they have to pay is for a server, complete rip off imo. I was going to buy titan quest gold edition the other day as it was £9 in asda but they stopped selling PC games in the store near me :(, i went to check steam just incase but it was $20 (about £12) so with taxes on that and the time taken for it to download while im throttled from virgin would mean its much more expensive interms of intitial price and then the cost of having the pc on downloading that instead of hosting a server etc.
Wow that was a big rant, sorry. IF you can get a few weeks early then it could be worth the price(for those who want it) but still, shouldnt be to much more.
I've preordered on amazon. Paid for delivery, came to £29.97 :) So it should arrive on the friday, if not perhaps a day before (as these things sometimes happen).
Screw EA and their £32 download :P
Ive pre-ordered the galactic version from Game.. can always sell it to me mum if i dont like it :)
The issue with buying it digitally is that you can't really sell it on when you've finished with it. Though with all these protection methods nowadays it is getting harder to sell on 2nd hand PC games.
It's plain to me that when you get it direct from EA it's like drinking pure melted arctic ice in comparison to normal tap water.
/sarcasm
nevermind
