Having you PS3 on while you watch and record TV will probably cost you a fair bit on the electricity bill, I'll have to have a look at how power hungry PS3's are.
Urgh
The 360 one is much better as far as IPTV and VOD goes when it's released All that is needed is better UK internet connections and it will be awesome
It's a bit expensive isn't it, how much more are sky+ boxes?
Compared to Sky Plus its cheap. The box costs you about £90-100, unless you get introduced by a friend, but then you have to subscribe to Sky. My sub is £42 a month.
I love Sky Plus, so this is no use to me, but for Freeview fans and PS3 owners, it seems like a decent deal.

Not sold on this yet. It would require a hard drive change though, thats for sure. Don't think I watch enough TV to warrant this.

Has the upscaling, you don't have an annual contract either, get free setanta currently (never de activated my bosses card a year on) and the quality of the servers for the PPV/VOD is top notch
Seriously, compared to sky on quality of viewing it is better, instant channel changes are brilliant and make sky difficult to flick though
Having recording rights on freeview with PVR is pretty standard now (being able to pause tv etc) also has HDMI and other useful stuff
The devil is in the detail....
Looks good though if you have BT Broadband, and of course the BT Landline required. To receive BT Vision you’ll need BT Total Broadband. If you don't have this already, we can order it for you with BT Vision. We’ll help you find the right package for you, from only £7.95 a month for the first three months, £15.99 thereafter.
*BT Vision available to BT Total Broadband residential customers, subject to minimum line speed. Connection £30. BT Home Hub required – £50/£30 (phone/online orders) with Option 1

I'm on Virgin at the moment and have been contemplaying Play TV. The absence of BBC HD will be a loss for me but this isn't a deal breaker. Whilst the lag using the V+ box is painful it does have the On Demand feature which is great and the good ole series link which Play TV doesn't have (yet).
I've got a pre-order with Amazon but I might see what Sony with this over the next few months - and stick with my V+ box.
The other bit that nags me is that the cable must be plugged into the front of the PS3 which will make things look untidy (unless I am missing a connection port at the back of my 40gb PS3).
