Time to test your general knowledge

duc got really close with the last one but Nub1 did get it right with the manufacturer of our last HEXUS.pipeline. Anyway, here's the next one to ponder over: Play hard with the babes, Osnabruck starts off with fuel injection, Voodoo did it first.
    Watch the show.

Re: Time to test your general knowledge

Well i'm guessing 'Voodoo did it first.' is SLI related as Scan-Line Interleave SLI was done with Voodoo 2 cards if memory serves

'Play Hard' is the tagline of XFX

X-Rated could refer to xfx's habit of putting 'XXX' at the end of their o/ced card names...

Looking at the video the southbridge heatsink looks like the one off the MB-N780-ISH9, i think i also spotted the rediculous fan they had on the NB

Not looked at the clues yet. The video shows two motherboards, a bit of deja vu.

Oh yeah... so it does... most of it is a black board with black/grey dimm slots but one bit it's a blue board with blue and white slots...

Re: Time to test your general knowledge

Yup two boards, redflames nailed the main one. Are we supposed to get the second one as well?

2nd board is a blue board with 2 blue and 2 white ram slots in pairs rather than alternating blue white. Never noticed a board like that before.

Ok my guess at the 2nd board is the Foxconn A7DA-S AM2+/AM2 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard.

Re: Time to test your general knowledge

Not sure where the 'two mainboards' idea has come from... I've double checked with the dastardly TV guy who shot this and he assures me it's just the one board.

Red is really close but not quite there... Nub, sorry, not that one.

Have a look at the clues, Red is well on the way with them.

I'll sort the stupid formatting out so that it reads right.

EDIT: Sorry about that, I hadn't noticed the formatting had screwed up the middle of the clue, ruining the word 'Osnabruck'. Fixed now.

Re: Time to test your general knowledge

    to follow on with Redflames

Play hard with the babes = XFX new slogan those hot pants aroused! my suspicion to this.XFX

Osnabruck starts off with fuel injection = the only thing i can find of any relevance is they built BMW's and Mercedes maybe its a model/class of car?

voodoo did it first = Didn't they first introduce SLI (voodoo 2 SLI)

So i'll have a stab at the... XFX nForce 780i SLI Motherboard

Re: Time to test your general knowledge

Ok, first off, apologies to you all as there WERE two boards in that clip... somehow a shot of another board crept in. Initially I was told that hadn't happened, but after beating the guys with salted birch boughs, they 'fessed up.

And as to who got it, Victor got the board right... probably cos the sneaky TV blokes re-uploaded an edited vid without the extra board.

Btw, the Osnabruck reference was that it was founded in 780...

So the reveal video is now up and a new pipeline on the way shortly.

Re: Time to test your general knowledge

Aren't Victor's and Red boards the same? According to the XFX site they only do one flavour of 780i board. Red has just given the code for it

Either way congrats to those that got it.
