Well it's free to sign up so I don't really have a problem with that.

GTA IV and "Games For Windows exclusive", aren't they a bit late...

Got to agree there. Why do people need to sign up to windows live!? Its just an annoyance and something to force a bigger user base onto windows live. No doubt MS paid a nice sum for this.
I've had it on PS3 since launch and can't remember the last time I played it in all honesty. Its the only game I've bought on release for £40 on the PS3 and I won't be doing it again!
I think GTA is very bad online.
Presumably it's like Gears of War - ie they can then offer you the multiplayer matching, chat so on and so forth.
If it's required for offline play as well then that's a bit steep, but isn't really any different from steam games requiring activation over steam.
The PC version?
no the ps3 version
I really don't see the point in GFW - online PC gaming has been going for years and I'm not sure I'm keen oin the amount of control m$ seem to be grabbing.
I already have a number of games using Steam and don't want to have to sign up to another game verification/monitoring service.
Imo this is only further alienating the PC customer base compounded by the late release to PC.
I played and enjoyed the previous titles but think I will pass on this one for these very reasons.
