Pointless waste of time tbh. The only marginally good thing ever to be released is the BitLocker enhancements.

Damn how does M$ do it... provide so much excellent value at every turn for us lucky few blessed with enough sense to buy ultimate for the extra goodies....

It just goes to prove what a bunch of lame brained M$ have working in their sales and marketing department! They should have never bothered releasing ultimate they should have bundeled all this crep in with Home Premium!

Re: News - Microsoft rolls out three new Windows Vista Ultimate Extras

The dreamscene desktops are unadulterated yak's poo. Sharp eyed Ultimate users will notice they are actually THE SAME SCENE just with a different colour hue bias. The sky in the low light video flickers horribly with artifacts.

Tinker was mildly engaging for half an hour but the quirky tinker sound scheme has no place on my PC.

Now why would Ultimate owners feel this is a half assed release?

Luckily I didn't buy Ultimate for the extras but a bit more would have been nice...

Re: News - Microsoft rolls out three new Windows Vista Ultimate Extras

They are so lame, it's more just a slap in the face than anything else.

Maybe these extras are called "Ultimate" because they are so ultimately pointless. If anything, I'd rather they put the one developer working on this cold sack of poo to work on something more useful. Like making cups of tea for everyone in the office.

Re: News - Microsoft rolls out three new Windows Vista Ultimate Extras

Hmmmm, more gash extras. Ultimate extras are pointless, they may as well save their money and stop paying the 1 part-time person they obviously have working on them. Extra dreamscenes are not really what I'd think of as an extra!

    Dontcha love fat cats?

Oh well Vista mk2 (Windows 7) had better work or they are up **** creek.
Mind you from what chatter i'm seeing over the project they seem to be just ripping out stuff to make Vista "lite"

well the WOW did start here, but not for the right reasons!

If people bought ultimate for anything more than bitlocker and things that shipped, rather than hoping for future freebies, they should be pissed off!

Re: News - Microsoft rolls out three new Windows Vista Ultimate Extras

I'd like to think that the vast majority of Ultimate purchases was for some combination of domain, MCE and bitlocker functionality.

But when they promise these extras, you would like to think they would be at least marginally worthwhile....

I wonder if anyone would care if they never released any more extras? (or just saved them up until they got a decent amount of useable things and shoved them all in the next SP)

Personally I think they are more insulting than not releasing anything!

I didn't even know Ultimate was supposed to have downloadable extras until people started complaining that there weren't any

Glad I didn't pay for Ultimate
