Yeah, I am a user of BT Vision and love the on demand content and ability to pause TV. When a freesat offers these options then I will be sold.. But Freesat on its own is not good enough in this modern age.
Come on ITV and BBC, move your butt and get on demand content for a freesat box.

I'll be interested in Freesat+ myself. It looks as though it'll tick most of the right boxes on my checklist. :)

the idea of a freesat+ is good in principle, but cant work in practice, because Satellite broadcasts are only oneway. IE the content cant be streamed on demand, just broadcast wholesale!
they could put a hard drive in a box, and allow you to pause and rewind tv, but on demand requires a full duplex system, like fiber optic cable or broadband.

They will do what Sky+ does then, the on demand service will only offer certain stuff which is broadcast on mutliple channels thus downloading over a period of time, and also they will offer some stuff which is automatically archived onto a HD.
Also, ITV1 HD is broadcast as a data channel, so it *is* really on demand...you will just download the data...

Which is exactly what BT Vision does, the normal PCR function (pause, rewind, etc.) work as they should on a nice dual tuner box and if you want on demand services it comes down the broadband line.
Freesat+ has never been sold as something which will provider on demand services, but it would be very nice to have a good PVR setup.

And they fail to mention how many people think they are watching HD because they have a freesatHD box....yet they have a whopping 2 HD channels.....

I'm sold, I have been since it launched, but I want a HD Humax PVR with a dual tuner and 320GB+ hard disk, exactly like their freeview models, only it needs to be able to upscale standard channels to 720p and have an HDMI output.
And we need a few more HD channels :) Thats where freesat has an advantage over freeview, theres SO much more bandwidth available.
Come on guys!
