Re: News - ASRock vs Gigabyte ? round 2

Would love to see the ASRock motherboard beat those results... I mean if ASRock expects a high performance motherboard to produce less heat than their low end motherboard then its only fair Gigabyte expect that same motherboard of ASRock's to out perform theirs.

Although this isn't something that makes the last claim by ASRock redundant it just puts things in to perspective for you. If you want green, low power, less heat, hug the earth type motherboard then sure ASRock has a decent solution(not that I'd buy it anyway, there are other manufacturer's I'd purchase first before them in that category) but if you want ultra performance with absolute stability and long lasting components then Gigabyte clearly has the edge.

In my opinion it was really stupid of ASRock to compare its motherboard with Gigabytes since they are not in the same league. ASRock's motherboards are low end while Gigabyte's are high end, yes Gigabyte make low end stuff as well but ASRock were the one's to try and compare a low end part with a high end one...

Oh dear...a battle on one-up-manship. It is entertaining to watch these cat fights but in my head all I see is "PR stunt". Ahh well, whatever the final outcome, both companies profiles will have been raised (temporarily) due to the coverage all this is getting.

ASROCK is a subsidiary of ASUS. And, ASROCK is a good mobo manufacturer. They are not on the same level as ECS, Jetway or PC chips!

Re: News - ASRock vs Gigabyte ? round 2

ASRock wrote as follows : " we tested with the exactly same testing configuration, same CPU, same memory, and same VGA card... as gigabyte tested."
Maybe the difference in temp is because they are using different CPU cooler than Gigabyte... , hmmm ?
We can't forget that each CPU cooler has different airflow into these MOSFETs where the highest temp is being measured

Erm....so the last one was fought on temperature, and now Gigabyte have ignored that and are going on about how awesome it is for overclocking (not that that's a bad thing) instead...does that mean they concede defeat in regards to temperature? I mean they don't even mention it at all in these slides, and that was what started all this

    I still don’t understand ASRock!!!
There is no way in hell that a motherboard runs at 125C or what ever is been said.

I was reading an online review on this board (GA-EP45-UD3P) and the average temperature is below 50C in a real-life operation. Is ASRock claiming that their board runs at 94C

To be honest, this whole ASRock and GIGABYTE thing is getting stupid.
Why don’t HEXUS just run their own tests and put this CAT fight to an end.

Personally I just think that GIGABYTE are not interesting in what ASRock are saying...

    Gigabyte Poseidon Case - Gigabyte Motherbaord - AMD Athlon64 4000+ - Radeon HD 5870 - 4GB DDR-III - 22" Samsung LCD - Logitech Lazer Mouse
I say "There are no problems, only solutions

I agree, why doesn;t Hexus do their own independant testing and sort this out once and for all!
