why does this bridge look so much more modern that all the other bridges I have seen on any Star Trek?

Jay, my guess would be that it's just due to what they can do now. The effects will be a lot easier to do in the new series of Star Trek films, and with a new crew, they may as well update a few things.
It might not fit in exactly with the other movies, but I don't mind some spruced-up gadgets. The first warp flight, according to the story, is said to have happened on April 5th, 2063. The first enterprise must have been built a few years after that so a 2070 ship should be kitted out with at least an Intel Core i128 and Windows 60.
The crew shots make it look like a spoof teen movie... fingers crossed they'll be decent in it.

The picture of the ship being attacked isn't the enterprise, it's the Kelvin.
