One of my kids (9 yr old) has asked for all the high school musical stuff, a laptop and an electric guitar with amp! Eldest has asked for a PS3 and all the Doctor Who stuff. Youngest is easy going though and is happy what he gets, we are currently thinking on the lines of Nintendo DS.

Lets just say that PS3 and laptop are probably not going to happen as the PS2 we bought 2 yrs ago got destroyed after 6 months and the discs are scratched to hell. So much stuff has also been spilt on the desktop I knocked together for them a lappy is not a good idea also.

Is it just me or do kids toys suck more than I thought they would these days?

I was kind of expecting to be impressed by the state of kids toys in 2008, and I really wasn't.

It's a little embarrassing after the above comments but I have to admit that despite having no kids, I'd love the Elmo Live or the Star Wars helmet - they look ace!

Already have the TMX Elmo and it's well funny.

It's all about the Star Wars Clone Trooper Voice Changer.

Can't beat a bit of Star Wars merchandise!

It may sound crap, no pun intended, but I did have trouble trying to source the magic potty last week. Somebody somewhere is buying the thing.

Re: News - This year's top-twelve toys for Christmas are...

The Elmo looks a hell of a lot better than the at-the-time revolutionary Barney interactive toy I had to endure working at PC World 10 years ago.

I pressed the buttons on the Star Wars helmet to hear the stock phrases. They're delivered in a slightly too camp male voice...
