Does anyone else remember that it was so common to get good CRT's for around the £40-£50 mark. £100 CRT was considered premium. I've rarely seen an LCD less than £80 and they tend to be pretty poor for gaming at least.

When was this? I paid around £100+ for my CRT's back in 2004 I didn't consider them premium

Indeed! I don't remember that at all. Not in the UK at any rate!

    £100 for a "premium" CRT?

We (work) happily shelled out £500+ each for a premium CRT only a couple of years ago. I'm not sure what you mean by premium, but it's not the same as what I mean

My old 21" CRT was about £350....

I think you get what you pay for in relation to Hannsg.
Great price and not a savagely bad spec but like some of their other products probably a lacking a fair amount overall in quality.

Re: News - HANNSG launches dirt-cheap 22in monitor

I'm not particularly fussy about technology, but I would never buy a Hanns-G monitor. Don't see the point in having a slightly larger screen if the display is going to be muddy and rubbish. Although saying that, it was about a year ago since I last looked at a Hanns-G monitor, so i'm not going to totally rule out the fact that they may have improved...

Re: News - HANNSG launches dirt-cheap 22in monitor

I have no problems whatsoever with buying cheap monitors, size and resolution is everything for me, so long as the panel isn't ridiculously poor. Reliability and warranty would be my only question mark on this, since monitors are relatively long term buys compared to other components.

It was only just over a year ago that I was still using a 5 year old acer 15" with a 40ms response time, so I'm well aware that my standards are low.

Re: News - HANNSG launches dirt-cheap 22in monitor

I have a 19" widescreen Hanns G monitor and its superb, its about a year old now. The built quality is fine and actually better than I expected for the price. No dead pixels, plenty of features I really can't fault it.
