Been in 2 minds whether to get this one or not. Probably wait off and go for Gears 2 instead (naturally!!! ).

Looking at the review, not overly bothered about repetition, played through Viking and that was pretty repetetive start to finish but did really enjoy it. Think I will stick Fracture on my rental list on Lovefilm

It's not really the repetitive fighting, I don't mind that too much. It's the repetitive use of the terrain-deforming weapon to solve the same puzzles, for example, lifting a piece of land to get over the top of a gate, or punching a whole in the surface to go through a tunnel.

Still, I've read some fairly positive reviews about Fracture, so there must be some appeal for people, just not me.

Red Faction did terrain deformation back on the PS2 quite a while ago. It didnt however allow you to raise the ground...

Demo was ok, wouldn't like a full length game though as quite repetitive as mentioned, looks pretty good though graphics-wise.

Did anyone else notice the 'jump' sound is basically a fart noise? Kept me amused for ages!

Can you really say Terrain Deformation is a first when Red Faction 1 and 2 had pretty much the same thing?

Okay, it might not have made nice smooth surfaces, but the ability to radically change your environment is not really a new one.

..true, but implemented in very few games & normally poorly when it was.
