It would be nice if they fixed their crappy Media Centre as well in SP2.

Re: News - Vista SP2 to start beta testing

Bluetooth 2.1 Feature Pack - Does this mean we will finally be able to use BlueTooth connection between our Windows Mobile devices and laptops for Internet Connection Sharing? That way I can prop my phone next to a window to get a better signal but still sit on the sofa Or what about A2DP? built in support for piping windows audio out over bluetooth would be great instead of having to rely on third party software stacks.

Recording to BluRay is also interesting. The first step towards native BluRay handling in windows? not holding my breath obviously, but it would be a very good thing. especially is a BluRay navigation component was made available through DirectShow.

Does seem a bit stupid to state the success of the previous SP pushed them to develope a new one.... Why not just say we have got a fair few bits which will add extra functionality and improve on what already exists... Pillocks.

Thats what the Service pack IS.

    Definition of Service Pack:

A service pack is a collection of updates, fixes and/or enhancements delivered in the form of a single package.

    I hear ya there slypie!

Media Center could be so great, but yet I find it falling far short of even user friendly.
Once you have configured it to play .Vob files and .AVI I find myself looking for reasons to start it rather than just use an external player and manually looking the title up. The radio station setup is laughable, why cant you listen to stations of your choice?

should be able to configure setup and view as well as able to be themed by third parties, for that individual feel.

    Higgs...Out!

Re: News - Vista SP2 to start beta testing

The Media Centre is so bloated and slow compared to Winamp. Otherwise I've only really had problems with Vista when trying to run old games, but I suppose that's the cost of progress.

MCE is a stand alone application designed for a front-end for a HTPC. It's a different beast to Winamp mate
