Well at least its some interesting news from the AMD camp, its been quiet for a little while now. Little suspicious of the timing of this though, just after intel have all eyes on them.
Maybe AMD where feeling a little left out?
Well they have 2.2ghz quad cores running at 55W now on a 65NM process so imagine 45nm?. Dont see what's bad about this? they are talking within the company and saying they have finally got a good chip that surpasses their expectations, this is a good thing surely? affordable CPU's? Intel core 7 will be forced to go down, if its good of course.
This will not effect i7 much IMO.
AMD seem to be going for the virtualisation and low-power server market.
Sounds to me like they are giving up of the broader picture and settling into a niche....
Not good for desktop owners :(
