You only get to address half of it. And your applications have sod all RAM to play with. I'd like to see an application that will actually use that much video memory exclusively.

"ideally suited for oil and gas exploration, medical imaging, styling and design, and scientific visualisation", says NVIDIA "and also, Crysis at 1024 x 768 with full settings, if you disable anything running in the background"

Medical imaging is often done at a resolution that allows you to render separate cells in an organism. Rendering a medium-sized bone at this resolution could take up a few dozen gigabytes. Oh, and I'm pretty sure you'd like a decent 64-bit OS to do that

""ideally suited for oil and gas exploration..." - because the fan fitted to it doubles as a handy helicopter to get you and up to 6 colleagues out to the rig?

Don't you hope that you find an oilfield to power the damn thing for twenty minutes or so?
