Ouch. £260 for a mobo which currently has a maximum memory capacity of 6GB and a measly 6 SATA ports? No thanks.

thats funny its 12gb it can support plus its 6sata and 2 sas which as far as i know can support sata

The first page states 12GB.

It's still a lot of money to shell out for the new platform (essentially a new build) and not something I can see myself needing to do for at least another 6 months. That's despite my desire to tinker with the latest stuff - haven't got the software to seriously demand that kind of kit yet.

And I may be wrong here, but after a very quick look, I can't find any DDR3 4GB modules. I did say currently it's limited to 6GB.

I wasn't aware you could connect SATA hard drives to a SAS port though, so I'll back down on that one.
