If you get a freeze, wait 20 seconds or so and it will go back to normal. Seems to be a bit of a bug, but its not a crash.

I had a few little quirks that seemed to iron themselves out.

When I first installed the update, the console rebooted to a blank screen and nothing happened for ages. Turned it off and on and all was back to normal - and that new intro video was well funky.

Had a bit of a play, but when I tried to join a Party the console froze and I had to turn it off and on again.

Since then, it's been smooth sailing. Doesn't half scare you when the console freezes though - you immediately look at the "Xbox ring" for signs of redness, and one hand reaches for the phone, in which all Xbox 360 owners should have the support number on speed dial.

Fair play though, it's an update going out to millions and I've had no hiccups since. Touch wood.

I'm not sure if console models make a difference, but mine is an age-old 20GB console without HDMI.

I've actually not got much faith with the xbox 360 hardware at the moment.

I've got a console at home that needs to go back yet again after getting the dreaded RROD even after it has been back once for 'fixing' to Microsoft already.

I am due to get an elite this weekend (1 of my birthday presents ) and I'm debating whether or not to update as I don't want this one to fall on it's arse and then keep having to go forth and back to MS for fixes and repairs.

I did leave it quite a while, a couple of minutes. Then I was too scared to leave it any more because last time it happened it was the RRoD.

Mine will freeze if i go to look at whos in a part, when i come back to my friends channel it will do it then.
Downloads are taking longer and sometimes it can't even find the page but i assume that due to lots of people

Mine froze after the update when I was looking through my Friends Miis. Turned it off and on again and haven't had an issue since. Long may it continue!

Froze twice with the friends list, but I think the problem is if you select someone and then press B to go back to the list and move either of joysticks while the menu is transitioning it'll freeze.

Having problems accessing a lot of stuff in the marketplace, but I've found a workround that's a bit easier than messing about in the menus. load http://marketplace.xbox.com/ on your PC's web browser and you can add stuff to your 360's download queue remotely.

Other than that, it's not too bad... just a case of finding everything now (anyone know how to disable the auto log-in for MSN messenger on the 360 now?)

Off the top of my head, press the Guide button, go to the far-right blade, and I think it's the bottom option. Should be labelled auto sign-in or something along those lines.

It's not just your console, I've got a falcon elite and it still has the occassional 20 sec freeze on the dashboard.
