this is a very very interesting product.. very tempted to get it on a mod project for some sort of tiny media center...

Sad you won't be able to put Phenom on it.. at least the ones with decent speed..
    Me want Ultrabook

That shouldn't be so much of a problem anymore, as Nvidia's latest drivers make the GPU do most of the heavy lifting when decoding media streams.

I'd not heard of Itx until this article... are these any good for HTPCs?

Apart from, like, the heading of the article is "looking for a perfect htpc mobo" or something.

    I mean, in reality.

id be more inclined to get either:

a 780G chipsetted one - for its hardware decoding.

if i had no need for high definition playback an atom based board - for its low cost.

but mini-itx's in general are brilliant for htpc's as you can stash everything in a case that makes a shuttle look big and clunky

Which brings me neatly to my next question:
What do you use? A biscuit tin?

http://www.mini-itx.com/projects/biscuittinpc/ if you like! they will go in just about anything.

as for actual cases, most of them are stupidly expensive. but:

    http://linitx.com/viewproduct.php?prodid=12082 something tiny that takes a 3.5"er

    http://linitx.com/viewproduct.php?prodid=10292 something tiny that takes a 2.5"er

http://www.microdirect.co.uk/(37992)...ktoptower.aspx something i may end up with, still very small but with quite a bit of room

http://www.xcase.co.uk/p/404991/chen...t-arrived.html the god of mini-itx cases and if i was ever crazy enough to drop nearly 200 on a case it would be that
