Looks quite nice, here's hoping that it will work as well as it looks! Nokia have made a string of shockingly poor phones of late (be honest, the entire Nseries has been terrible compared to Nokias previous offerings), so I really hope that is just because all their good developers have been sat in a box crafting this =)

Sorry, I don't agree with you on this. Well, based on my very limited experience - since I've only got an N95 (unless you count those web tablet thingies too - got one of those as well). My '95 has been pretty reliable and nice to use. Certainly I don't remember much in the way of envy for the iPhone.

Anyway, to the new Nseries (N98?), got to say that it looks pretty similar to the others from Samsung, LG, etc. I'll reserve judgement until I get to try a working copy.

Career status: still enjoying my new career in DevOps, but it's keeping me busy...

Re: News - Nokia's next touchscreen phone revealed?

Well their entire N series range has been plagued with problems..which mostly relate to the build quality (terrible in comparison to their standard range..ironic considering the N series is supposedly premium) , and mostly the reliability and speed of symbian these days.

In my experience, and that of my friends, they are generally great for a while..first 6 months of owning my n73 for example were great - no problems, nice quick phone..but then the problems start and get worse and worse. Things did improve a little in terms of build quality with the N95 I grant you, but it is still terribly slow for a smartphone (comparing against WM6 or the iPhone), and full of bugs (although the number of bugs present will depend on the operator and if they can be bothered to push an update).

Still, you have been lucky with yours and thats great Just that in my experience there have been way more problems than anything else with the N series.

Re: News - Nokia's next touchscreen phone revealed?

The build quality and the battery life of the N series is what lets it down. None of the phones feel solid, they have a tacky plastic feel to them and generally develop faults if they are not very well looked after. The battery life when compared to some premium phones is atrocious. I don't think I will ever find anyone with an iPhone who envies someone with the N95.

Thats not to say the iPhone is a great phone, because its not.
