Doesn't work for me in Win XP x64 - system won't boot. I have to boot into safe mode to remove it and go back to 8.11
Tried to uninstall 8.11 in order to install 8.12 but the installer (installManager, both of them! both for 8.11 and 8.12) kept crashing. At the end I tried some driver removal tools and still I cannot install 8.12 due to installManager of 8.12 crashing!?!
I don't understand. The only thing I've done in between 8.11 and 8.12 is windows updates and some game installs...
Now unless I format I cannot install ATI display drivers... I had to manually install 8.12 which also means I don't have access to control center or any setting changes in windows...
How can a company like ATI not be able to produce an installation that doesn't crash?

You need to do the following (I know its a pain and shouldn't be but it gets the drivers installed )
- Try installing and let it fail.....remember where it extracted the files to (c:\ATI\SUPPORT\<version> usually)
- Open a command prompt
- CD c:\ATI\SUPPORT\<version>\bin64
- atisetup -Install -output screen
Had to do this for the last 2 updates
You can do the same but with -Uninstall if you want to remove the old ones first.
