The speed is impressive but as mentioned its only a faster way to getting throttled, 200Mbps okidoke lol....

Fair Usage is terrible on VM, anything will cause throttling, even hosting a game with 4+ players will cause throttling because of the outgoing connections VM thinks you're using P2P.

Yep, suffered at uni in my house for a year on the 20 mbit service. Virgin really needs to take action to vastly improve infrastructure and reliability before rolling out yet another 'speed increase'.

I've had 20mb since it first came out and I am one of the lucky ones that have had the full 20mb consistantly. I know that many people struggle to reach 16mb. But I still get 20mb even in peak times. So I am really looking forward to 50mb in my area. Also, the modems look amazing. Virgin Media FTW

I get steady speeds and so do many others, if they provide 50mb/s then i cant see a problem as its only when throttled i get a less stable speed. The title is miss leading, says no traffic management when it really is traffic management to reduce speed is reducing it so im confused . If they really can provide 200mb/s then why the hell are they throttling people for using 20mb/s or less? They just proved theres no need(or are lying about 200mb/s).

Hell for that price, I'd get dual bonded Be* connections. More or less same speed, yet no throttling, and probably a much faster upload as well.

I see your a janner or at least living in janner-country

I myself am from Plymouth (although live in London now) and a lot of friends who still live there are on VM....all say the same, download speeds are fine.

I think its a population/capacity issue that is localised, talk to people in more densely populated cities and you will normally find them cursing VM.

I went onto their website and eventually found the 50mbit checker. Typed in my post code, every address on the street was there bar mine. Odd. I ticked one next door, and they said only 20mbit available. Boo.
