GTX 285 of course.
Will be good to see an independant place like Hexus test these cards - too many places seem to test only against an nVidia approved games list early, meaning we have to wait for more realistic benchmarks.
Now if only nVidia could shrink the size of the cooler on the GTX260-216+ so it fitted in medium-small cases they'd be looking at some nice market gains.

Hexus had already announced the 285 earlier in the week. But im keen to see the figures on this. Especially the load running temps.

Which games aren't NVIDIA approved? Latest ones. AFAIK those guys get the early previews/reviews in because NVIDIA tells them they gotta use the NVIDIA approved games.
Re: Articles - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 to topple Radeon HD 4870 X2?
So if this is made from two GTX260s, what will the 285 be made from?
Like the sound of this though:
"Extending this farther, drivers will allow you to mix-and-match CUDA-capable NVIDIA GPUs for PhysX, meaning that a GeForce 9800 GT could be used for PhysX offload and, say, the GTX 295 for rendering."
So when I get my next graphics card I can keep my 8800GT and use it for PhysX. Sorted!

nVidia have a list of 5 games they are apparently telling review sites to use.
Re: Articles - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 to topple Radeon HD 4870 X2?
if i added this to my rig, would it tri-sli with my existing gtx260 or would that card still be used for physx?......
also, wonder if they'll release a similar version of the gtx280 sli-ed..... probs overkill to the vast majority nevertheless

GTX260->PhysX. Unless NVIDIA proves me wrong. I'd say it's highly unlikely though :D
Re: Articles - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 to topple Radeon HD 4870 X2?
that was my inital thought, wishful thinking i suppose on my part.

To my knowledge the 285 is basically the 280 with the 55nm revision in the manufacturing process and a slightly improved architecture.
Re: Articles - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 to topple Radeon HD 4870 X2?
Its more a cross between the 260 and 280 in 55nm.

i quoted the wrong person before ;) whups

Just found this:
http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-gtx-295-preview/
If that's true.....that's amazing. I know it's only a low resolution, but this a taster:
Deadspace: 1028x1024 HD4870x2: 154 GTX295: 265
As it is only an engineering sample, i'm unsure of the accuracy of this, but either way it is impressive.
EDIT: Just found these:

No that's not a taster, that's you picking the benchmark which fails to run properly on the AMDx2 card.
Going by the (nVidia chosen) games in general, this card is a bit faster than the 4870X2, which is to be expected, but it's nothing like the gap you're implying.
Re: Articles - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 to topple Radeon HD 4870 X2?
Yes, I never claimed that that gap was true for all games, but there is still a gap. Still, it seems rather odd for deadspace to have that much of a difference.
Re: Articles - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 to topple Radeon HD 4870 X2?
i think its such a new game you may need to wait for a hotfix/driver update before you see it being fully utilized on the AMD card.
