Re: Inno3D big up the GeForce GTX260

Hmm, good video but i dont really agree with nvidia cards being better(disagree all you want, not all points valid). PhysicX is playable on the ati cards and amd have Havok iirc, thats even and once more whats the point? The GPU is the limitation of FPS at this point in time(apart from ati 4870x2) and so you are giving the cpu less work(which doesnt struggle already) to sit there idle and then the gpu dieing more which imo isnt really a logical approach, its purely marketing.

With the adobe rendering stuff i agree with that but isnt that the whole point of workstation cards(the expensive ones)?. For the hdmi connection, how are you ment to connect the little 2 pin audio cable? I use dvi--->hdmi but would of used hdmi-> hdmi as its cheaper(when i last looked) and doesnt have issues which the 9800GTX did with it(drivers finally sorted it).

The 192 shader gtx260 is being phased out which is why its the same price.

Erm... i think that's more to do with the fact that shes cream crackered and has a different native tongue...

One thing i havn't looked into for a while..

are ATi still pratting about not supporting linux, or have they pulled their fingers out of their asses for the 4*** series?

and the GTX260 has never been the underdog... They have traded blows for a long time, and the HD4870 was slightly ahead overall, but pre bigbang2 things stood as:

    http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...0,1964-19.html

now after bigbang2, the performance was increased which puts it ahead (albeit minorly)...

so lets examine the pros of the HD4870 pre bigbang2 with bigbang2 applied:

    * 6% better performance than the GeForce GTX 260
BB2 drivers increase performance in FC2 upto 40%, and upto 10% in other games. plus 1 to nvid (average performance increase would average out to the same if not slightly higher)

    * Priced lower than the GeForce GTX 260
    ~£200 for a 1GB 4870
    ~£210 for a GTX260 55nm

are the extra features worth it? i think so. plus 1 to nvid

Lower noise level than the GeForce GTX 260

now... i'm going to pre-empt that the 55nm will be quieter, and i wouldn't exactly call the 4870 quiet or cool... so a plus for nvid

so out of three past plus' for the 4870, the GTX260 takes all...

    now the cons:

High power consumption under load, and especially at idle

well that still stands true, and the 55nm will consume even less so a retained plus there

    availability:

since the GTX260 55nm is on pre-order... the HD4870 wins easily on this bit...

    Intel bought Havok, not AMD
My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

0iD: Plus weeing in it every now & again does it good

Inno3D, not one of the bigger players in the market, but decent nonetheless. Decent vid as well.

Had Inno3D's in the past, never personally had any problems with them.
