What exactly does it mean by "spot price of around $1.80 for DDR2 667Mhz 1Gb"? Clearly the price of a 1GB stick of RAM has never been that low.
I'm assuming they mean 1 Gbit chips
so ~$2 per chip*8=~$16/GB
it refers to the chips that you can see on the RAM:
eg:

on this you can see 8, the spot price increase affects each chip on it, so the price increases overall
so instead of $0.58*8 it's now $0.74*8
Just ordered myself an additional 4GB (to make 8GB total) or OCZ DDR2 ram for £35 before it gets expensive.
Not bad, running at 1100MHz :).
Play.com currently doing a stick of 2GB PNY PC2-6400 for £11.99. What are the chances of getting anything else that low in 2009? I might buy some even though I'll have nothing to stick it in for 6 months :)
