I'm sure this is what I have seen at PC world recently as I had no idea what the hell it was.. and that doesn't often happen

Quite basic, blu ray should be alright as I believe it has X4500HD graphics but it will no doubt want a a fair chunk of your ram and a lot of the CPU as well. It did have HDMI out from memory though so not bad all round. Not sure it's worth it over the studio 15 if that holds it's ~£400 price tag though (which has already slipped to £430 for the HD3450 version I'm noticing).
Do you now what the processor on the £429 studio is like? Its just that it isn't C2D so I'm unsure about it.
Pentium dual core.. core 2.. it's all the same.
Bit less cache, that's about it afaik.
Thats what I thought, I just seem to remember someone on here saying dual core was pants compared to C2D, Cheers Mike
That depends which Pentium
The "Pentium Dual Core" that you see in notebooks and desktops are simply Core 2 Duo's with half the cache and (often) a slower FSB.
The real old "netburst" Pentium's - i.e. Pentium D's - are the old architecture and the horrible hot things we should never speak of again!
Basically, anything Intel that you find these days in a Dell notebook is all based on the Core 2 architecture, regardless of whether it's called a Core 2 Duo, Pentium Dual Core, or "Fuzzy Wuzzy"
This Dell has also been in PCWorld for at least a month now. I'm pretty sure it also lacks a HDMI - i.e. its a backward step from the 1525 - as they are probably trying to differentiate more between the Inspiron and Studio lines.
heh.. could have sworn it had HDMI but you're right it doesn't. £400.. 'avin a larf!
