ahh makes sense, cheers dude
Thanks for linkys. Was grabbing the torrent (so sloooooooooooow) but just tried MS link and bang on 1.2MB/s for me. Was maxing me out earlier too on previous set of links, but tinyurl made me uneasy.
Zero luck on that other link for a key though. Format, used my account registered many years ao during the Vista Beta IIRC and no luck here. Think the chances of scoring one are getting slimmer and slimmer tbh.
That's certainly the position I'm in - I have Vista Home Premium on one of my laptops and *had* Vista Business on my work laptop. The work laptop went back to XP Pro after ~ 3 months, and the home laptop will be going to something else ASAP. I gave Vista a real go, but it just isn't as good as XP, and I'm hoping 7 will be an improvement.
SO GIVE ME MY DAMN BETA KEY ALREADY!!!!ONE""!112!
Been playing a couple of hours now and I'm very very impressed. Firefox, AVG, Trackmania, everything I've thrown at it so far has just worked. Can deffo feel the Vista but thats not a bad thing, times move on and all that. Just feels so much faster than Vista. Thinking somewhat down to it being x64 and having 4GB of Ram to chew at, kinda tempted to give Vista another try in x64 flavour now as my current XP install is shot.
As above, give us some bloody keys please MS!!!
Well, I managed to register my details last night between 7-8pm and I haven't been able to get anywhere near a key. After I'd registered and confirmed everything it took me to the page saying
The site is currently experiencing technical difficulties, please check back in the next business day.
I've managed to get the x64 iso from the microsoft download link ppl posted here (thanks guys!) but the x86 iso keeps erroring after ~ 8 - 9%. Anyone else having difficulty with that, or does my computer just not like the x86 vesion (perhaps it's trying to tell me something )?
You don't need a key - just click 'next' without entering one. The installation will continue and you'll have a grace period in which to provide a key later.
I got both x86 and x64 down without issue from Mercygrounds links (thanks again btw!). Might be obvious, but are you sure you got enough free space as combined they are pushing 8GB? What error is being thrown up?
Consider using the torrent instead? Should be well seeded by now and like others have said, don't think you can call it piracy when MS are giving the beta out for free anyway. Hopefully MS will sort out theire site and just hit them up for your key(s).
I had the same problem with it, but i got the dvd from a torrent, and used the key i got from microsoft. The torrents are apparently stupidly slow now though
One thing ive noticed that is quite irritating is windows 7 is only giving me access to the partition of the drive its installed on
