It's fine here, though was slow for an hour or so. Having said that, if the beta download is up yet, it's not obvious.
They did say Friday afternoon, but that being Seattle, I'd assume they mean afternoon Pacific time, and they didn't say when in the afternoon.

Got both Safari and Firefox attempting requests to the site. Got the page up, but server too busy and gets kicked out

Hmmm, not sure the link is there yet. The MS Downloads site doesn't have it yet, and the http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/ page still says to check back this afternoon. Any direct links to the download page yet?

I have the 2008 R2 beta downloading from MS Download site http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en at the moment. Which is basically the server verison of Windows 7. So Windows 7 beta must be imminent

You shouldn't need to sign in? Are you using the TechNet one or MSDN? I assumed they would release it to the Download site?
Edit: My bad, it is availbe for 'normo's' on TechNet. I really should read articles more thoroughly.
Doesn't it need a serial key though??
