Yeah, I meant to point out that this isn't new information: the patches were available at public release, and I patched my copy fine.
Anyone NOT reading release notes for something like this is asking for trouble in my eyes.
The patches were available from the get go, but as far as I'm aware they were only published to the Windows Update service at some point yesterday. Prior to that, the update had to be downloaded and installed manually.
Ah, I must have missed it then.
On my 64-bit build this particular update only showed up last night.
Not all updates show up to everyone at the same time. I think it depends on the severity I has been set to. Critical updates all go out together, optionsal or recomended ones are often spread out to prevent massive peaks in bandwidth. XP Sp3 is a prime example.
This update also solves the problem of DVR-MS files not playing in media centre.
Thats what virtual boxes are for. It runs pretty sweet in Sun Virtualbox.
