What an awesome board - all the best bits of X58, crammed into mATX? I'm really impressed!
Re: News - ASUS tackles the high-end mATX market with Rampage II GENE
Tis impressive however if you are running SLI with dual slot cards you have no room for a soundcard :( Bit of a shame but there isnt anything they could really do i suppose

This board has the supreme X-Fi built into the motherboard. It's the chip bottom left of the board.
Re: News - ASUS tackles the high-end mATX market with Rampage II GENE
That is one SWEET board.
I'm surprised ASUS haven't integrated their own Xonar card on to their own motherboard, instead ASUS uses a chip from their fiercest soundcard rival, then again ASUS doesn't manufacture their own sound chips. I really hope that Supreme X-Fi is the real EMU20K deal and not the CA0106 crap, makes the onboard X-Fi a bit redundant.
EDIT: Just looked at spec, only does EAX4 i.e. no EAX5. Looks like it is the CA0106

Il never use a creative sound card after my emu1212 and XFI extreme audio ever again...
Re: News - ASUS tackles the high-end mATX market with Rampage II GENE
This board looks seriously interesting. I know I'm not the first to say this, but the "I wonder how much it'll cost?" question lingers.
If it was as expensive as other x58 mobos, it'd be a very, very expensive mATX mobo.
Re: News - ASUS tackles the high-end mATX market with Rampage II GENE
They're more niche than other X58 boards, so I wouldn't be surprised if they cost even more to be honest. Top of the range enthusiast boards in an mATX format and all those features will not be cheap.

Seen some prices on this.
http://www.google.co.uk/products?q=a...tf-8&scoring=p currently shows one seller (Kikatek) listing it at £198, whereas other (better-known (to me anyway)) sellers list at around £215.
Scan (who I'd prefer to buy from if I was in the immediate market) says "Call". Does that mean they are bored and want to chat? (Joke.)
