I can see them maybe rebadging a Wind or expanding their tablet line, something like that, but jumping into the actual x86 laptop/PC space? They'd have to be mad - we all know that the margins are pitiful, and even after the market's shaken out a bit it's not exactly as though we're short of manufacturers.

Indeed, unless they can bring something radically new or inventive to the marketplace they are doomed before they start.
