Because it's still the most popular, and therefore the most likely to be cracked. They may want to axe XP when they can, but in the mean time they'd rather people paid for it than used it for free...
wait a few days and it will be cracked again as always

I always suspected that Microsoft's plan was to let the majority of users pay for the software, and not bother pirates as OS market dominance is more important in the long term. I personally will never give a penny to Microsoft. They are one of the least ethical and moral businesses in existence and I will never support that, especially considering the poor design of windows (vista).
